Looking back at some of my favourite photos from 2018. For each of the 12 days (of Christmas) I’m sharing one of my favourite pictures I’ve taken during 2018.

#10 – Alisha

A bright spring morning gave me all the natural light required for this photo of Alisha.

The shooting space was not particularly large, requiring the use of a shorter lens than my so usual 85mm, this was the EF 50mm f/1.2L USM. This 50mm f/1.2 is loved by some photographers but for me it is a case of maybe. Some of the time I use it, I get results I adore, other times it does little to make me want to keep it. I can see it being the first casualty of my EF lens collection, with a very good chance of it being traded in towards the RF 50mm f/1.2L ISM in 2019.

Camera settings – Alisha

  • EOS 5D Mark IV
  • EF 50mm f/1.2L USM
  • 1/200s, f/2, ISO 250

It appears that this is another of those natural light shots, and I was supposed to be the Speedlite guy 😉

See you tomorrow for another picture…
