Over the course of 2017 I’ve taken plenty of photos that have been fun, challenging or fortunate. For each of the 12 days (of Christmas) I’m sharing one of my favourite pictures from 2017.
#11 – Amber
Amber modelled for several of my workshops for EOS Training Academy in 2017, this photo was taken at the last workshop of the year. As the workshop was an advanced one, where multiple lights are used, this picture uses three lights. Each light is controlled differently.
The main light on Amber’s face is set to E-TTL. The light on the back of her neck and shoulder is set to manual mode, and finally the light that illuminates the background is set to External Auto metering. The Speedlite 600EX-RT flashes have a sensor on the front that measures the light reflected back from the subject – in this case the background.
Technical stuff aside, I feel that I caught the gentle elegant character that Amber brings with her every time we work together.
