Over the course of 2017 I’ve taken plenty of photos that have been fun, challenging or fortunate. For each of the 12 days (of Christmas) I’m sharing one of my favourite pictures from 2017.

#2 – Stacey by the river

I worked with Stacey on a shoot down by the river in Marlow. The day dawned with mist in the air, that soon became warm sunshine. It was my first time to work with Stacey and we mixed some available natural light and flash shots. I used a medium-sized Lastolite – sunlite or sunfire – Tri-Grip to bounce some of the light back towards Stacey.

This photo was one of my favourites, and was the most liked picture on my Instagram account in 2017. On Instagram I posted the version with the wooden poles where the boats tie up, for this version I removed the poles in photoshop.
