Over the course of 2016 I’ve taken plenty of photos that have been fun, challenging or fortunate. For each of the 12 days (of Christmas) I’m sharing one of my favourite pictures from 2016.

#6 – David Clapp

I met top landscape and travel photographer David Clapp at a training day. He was delivering a presentation and I was demonstrating some of the possibilities of the Speedlite flash system to the attendees.

During a quiet part of the day David asked could I take a picture of him as he was looking for a new profile picture. He liked the look of the pictures that were coming from my setup so stood in place. I can’t recall if I stood on a pelicase for this shot or not, I may have done as David is tall and I’m not. Lighting is from a couple of Speedlites, a larger softbox to the camera left and a small Lastolite Ezybox Speedlite II from the rear for the accent on David’s left cheek.

Camera settings

See you tomorrow for another picture…
