Oxford Fashion Week model casting session

Yesterday afternoon was the first casting session for models who want to be part of Oxford Fashion Week, I was at the casting as part of the photography team photographing the models as they walked for the panel of casting directors, here’s a couple of pictures from the session.

There’s another casting session today – Sunday at the Malmaison in Oxford from 14:00 to 17:00. Details are on the Oxford Fashion Week Facebook page.

Technical notes

To shoot these images I used the EOS 5D Mark III and a single Speedlite 600EX-RT flash. The flash was off-camera on a light stand and bounced from the silver side of a Lastolite Tri-Grip reflector. The Tri-Grip and flash were mounted with the Lastolite Tri-Grip bracket which holds the Tri-Grip and the Speedlite securely in position. I used a Canon CP-E4 battery pack on the Speedlite for faster flash recycling. Since the room being used for the casting was relatively dark I was using ISO settings between 1250 and 2000 with the flash and up to 6400 without. Images were shot as RAW and medium JPG so that processing time and supply of the images can be quick after the session.
