location portrait with Jo in Oxford

Last weekend I took some portraits in Oxford of the lovely model Jo. We used a few hours of a Saturday afternoon to walk around Oxford shooting pictures as we went.

Here is a selection of the pictures that Jo elected to choose for her portfolio from the shoot.

Crop in there may be a better picture in there

The modern multi-megapixel cameras do allow so much potential for cropping in to a picture, it’s still hard to think that this crop would still make a great 7 x 5 inch print at 300dpi.

I’d kept things simple in terms of gear to lug around. One camera and three lenses, two Speedlites and a trigger plus a small softbox and Lastolite TriGrip. The one light stand I took did get used as a boom arm to position the soft box right over the top of Jo in a couple of shots. Thanks to Jonathan Thompson for being super helpful assistant on the day too.
