Happy Christmas

Happy Christmas

Here’s hoping that Santa decided to put you on the nice list and not the naughty list. As a result you got a great photo present for Christmas. If it was a Canon EOS camera you will find some helpful tips below.

  • Make sure that your new camera is set so that it’s set to only able to take pictures with a memory card installed, I wrote how to do exactly that in this article First steps in setting up your DSLR.
  • It’s your new camera so you want it to be tailored to you. Spend a few moments to follow the three steps to personalise your camera.
  • Once you’ve taken some pictures find a community of like-minded photographers and start to share your pictures. Be it a local camera club, flickr, 500px, Google+ even Facebook; you will find that you will learn plenty from other photographers, but you also need to be prepared to put in some effort to comment and participate in your selected place.
  • Bookmark and keep reading my blog for great tips that will help you get the most from your Canon photo equipment 🙂

Enjoy your photography…

If you feel that you’d like to learn some more about making better photos or using your photo gear more effectively then please ask me about training. Don’t forget that I am running some training for EOS Network in January, February and March in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
