Is Canon preparing an EVIL camera?
In a recent Reuters article a senior company executive has said that Canon is exploring the possibility of launching a mirrorless model, featuring many of the capabilities of an upmarket single-lens refles camera in a more compact body. In the same article Masaya Maeda, head of Canon’s camera division also said the company had restored production to pre-earthquake levels by the end of June and it now plans to increase capacity for SLR production to from the current 7 million to 10 million units per year with a factory expansion in Taiwan.

Canon Pro Solutions is back
Canon Pro Solutions is once again coming to the Business Design Centre in Islington in October. So now all you need to do is put 25th and 26th of October in your diary and then go to the Canon Pro Solutions site and once there you can register for a free ticket to the show. I’ve presented several seminars at the previous shows, so can assure you that it’s worth your time to come along to the show. Last year the 2,800 attendees were treated to a wide array of Canon and partner solutions with an increased focus on the moving image, part due to the DSLR movie makers, but also the event was just after the launch of the XF305 professional camcorders. Watch the promo video on the Canon Pro Solutions site to get a taste of the type of show.
