Last night I attended the opening of Drew Gardner’s Olympic Golden Greats Exhibition. Over the last few years Drew and his partner Lucinda Marland have been taking photos of Britain’s older generation of Olympic champions. This personal project has seen them travel over 15,000 miles to meet all these winners of an Olympic gold medal, all of them are more than 60 years old. Drew is a master of location lighting, and to hear some of the stories of how he made these amazing portraits just added to the event.
Well now it’s your chance to see the portraits Drew and Lucinda captured to mark the Olympics coming to London, and where better than the stadium suite at John Lewis’ store in Westfield, Stratford (that’s the Westfield in the East of London, not the one near Shepherds Bush
). The stadium suite has stunning views overlooking the London 2012 Olympic site.
The exhibition is open from now until 20th March 2012 and entrance is free.
Please also stop by Drew’s blog for more about the exhibition.
